For my service learning project, I chose to help referee the cornhole games for Special Olympics. To say I had a GREAT time would be an understatement. It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day with a great turnout. Although I don't remember exactly how many games I refereed, I was there from noon to about five. It was incredibly rewarding to watch everyone be so competitive yet such good sports. I even had the chance to participate in a game myself, which was a lot of fun.

 

When I first arrived, I felt a bit discouraged, especially since I was the only one from my group attending who went to IU Indy. However, I decided to be outgoing and represent the organization with a positive attitude. For anyone considering a service project, I would highly recommend this experience, and I would definitely do it again.
